Next month the famous Miguel Bernal Jiménez Music Festival will be held in Morelia, an international festival that has always been known for presenting great musical exponents from all over the world. This year, the festival will celebrate its 31st anniversary and will feature guest artists from Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, South Africa and Colombia, as well as Mexican artists from various parts of the country.
Since its creation in 1989, the goal of this festival has been to promote and expand music education. Today, it is a link between Mexico’s conservatories, making students participate in different courses and master classes. During its 30 years of existence there have been 70 master classes, more than 500 concerts and more than 10,000 guest artists.
The festival will take place from 15 to 23 November with different venues within the capital of Michoacan. The inaugural concert will take place at 21:00 on Friday 15 November in the cathedral. In addition, the traditional flower carpet will be prepared in Calzada Fray Antonio de San Miguel by artisans from Patamban.
